Steps :

1) Go to the grocery store and ask for a jug of waste vegetable oil (WVO)

       a.       WVO: extra oil that was once used to make fast food

2) You will then place the WVO in a flask with ethanol and mix it around

       a.       we used 2.0 mL of ethanol and 10 mL of WVO but the amount varies depending on how much biodiesel you want to make

3) This process takes about 30 minutes (including automatic stirrer)

4) After you have mixed the WVO and Ethanol together you will then put the mixture inside a centrifuge tubeà which will be placed in a centrifuge and mixed for about 5+ minutes

           a.       you do this to make sure that both the WVO and ethanol separate

5) You then need to add acetic acid into the centrifuge tube and mix it together (by turning it up and down)

6) After you can distinguish a distinct definition between the two layers you will remove the top layer (liquid should be at the bottom after you suck out all of the crude biodiesel)

7) You will then pour out all of the liquid and will replace the crude biodiesel into the centrifuge and repeat the step several of times until you have created biodiesel!
